A Membership That Includes Coached Sessions
Package a coaching program as a monthly membership: four, eight or twelve clinics included, a flat rate for anything past that, and the club paid monthly either way.
What it is for
A junior program is the clearest case. A parent pays once a month and their child has a known number of sessions, rather than paying at every clinic. You set the number per tier and the price of an extra session, and the system prices each registration against what the member has left.
The same shape works for adult clinics, skills sessions, or anything run as a Clinic event.
Setting it up
On the tier
Members › Membership Tiers, on the Clinics & classes card: a member pays Free per clinic, Limited to the number you include, reset / month, then a $ flat rate per extra session.
On the sessions
Build them under Activity › Events with the built-in Clinic type, priced with Tier benefits. A type you made yourself does not carry the clinic benefit.
Then check it
Register one test member. An included session prices at $0, and the one past the allowance prices at the extra-session rate.
The form now warns you about the one setup that charges twice
If a session is priced with Custom pricing and Apply membership benefits is switched off, the member is charged the price you typed and still has one of their included sessions used up. There is no error, and the number on screen looks reasonable, so the only symptom used to be a billing complaint weeks later.
The event form now says so at the moment you choose that pricing, and the warning goes away as soon as you switch the benefits toggle on or pick Tier benefits. It only appears for clubs that actually have a tier including sessions, so it is not noise on an ordinary event.
Worth knowing
- The tier card shows a plain-English summary in your own numbers, so you can see what you set without reading the form back.
- The overage label names the thing being charged for, per session on a clinic and per hour on a court, rather than one borrowed unit everywhere.
- When you check your setup, read the price, not the remaining count. The count goes down either way, so it looks right even when the pricing is wrong.
- There is a walkthrough for staff in the Learning Center, and a help-centre article under Members.
